Furnished Clintonville Home to Lease

Our house is located at 168 Clinton Heights Avenue, in South Clintonville. It’s a charming, cottage-style house built in 1914, with 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, and an open floor plan first floor. It is located within an easy walk of Kroger, the farmers market when open, a few cute little cafes and coffee shops like Dough Mama, Katelina’s, Two Tigers Coffee and Global Gallary, a hipster little plant/gift shop, a child’s toy shop, a locally owned bookstore, and many other little shops. You can grab a bus on high street (a 2-3 min walk) to get to campus to downtown, or hop on the bike path to bike down. Being fairly small (1,016 square feet), the house is ideal for an individual or small family. We have a huge backyard, two-tiered backyard, the top of which is fenced for our dog. It’s surrounded by trees, and you can sit on our second floor back porch and feel like you’re just surrounded by green in the spring/summer. We’re also a 5 minute walk from Wahallah Ravine, which is a lovely place to stroll.

We are looking for somebody to lease our house starting around January 5th (we are leaving for Uganda on the 4th), up through March at minimum. We could continue rental through May, that’s flexible. It will be rented free of most personal items, but fully equipped with furniture, appliances, kitchen, cookware, bedding, towels, television, etc.

A key bonus / caveat to this rental — it comes with our cat, Nimbus, of whom you can see pictures at the bottom (and one at the top of him looking out over our backyard). He’s an indoor-outdoor cat, low maintenance and lovely, cuddly when he wants to be, and fairly independent. Since this is partly a cat-sitting gig, we are obviously going to be careful to lease to somebody that we feel will take very good care of him! We’re asking $1,000 a month, which includes rent, all utilities, and internet — much lower than cost because of the cat sitting. Well-behaved dogs are likely welcome, with discussion (we have one ourself). Please email Leah (bevis.16@osu.edu) with questions, to discuss or request more pictures/info, or to set up a visit.

House from the front:

Clearly I only take pictures of my house during the holidays — so here is a look at Halloween and Christmas.

Backyard and (2nd floor) back porch:

The backyard is two-tiered as you an see in the top right picture. That top-right picture was taken from the back porch, which you can see in the bottom-right picture (looking up at it) and in the middle top picture a bit (cat and flowers on the porch). The arch was for my sister’s backyard wedding. We have a swingset in the back, now.

Dining and living room:

As you can see above, the dining room and living room have been opened up to 1 room, and there’s also a side space that we use as a play are for our daughter now, but of course we could take that play area down and put a table and lamp there (as we had it pre-baby).

Kitchen:

The kitchen is fairly small but we’ve added the counter space to make it super efficient.

Bigger bedroom:

This is what we use as our bedroom, the closet that you can see next to the dresser is absolutely massive, runs behind the dresser. We can empty space in the closets of both rooms as well as empty the dressers.

Smaller bedroom:

The only thing not shown here is the large dresser opposite the windows, i’ll try to add that later. This is clearly our daughter’s room. : ) We don’t really use the crib so are happy to take it down.

Bathroom:

The house only has 1 bathroom, upstairs between the 2 bedrooms. As you can see it’s got a tub, and we can empty some storage space below the sink and in the cabinet. Child potty can also go!

Most importantly, the cat!

His name is Nimbus, thought we more frequently call him Kitty. Our dog, Claire, is not included! She’ll be with my parents while we’re in Uganda, and then we’ll be with her in upstate NY for a couple months.
